Information we process

The official website uses the page URL to select its language and does not require a language preference to be stored on your device.

Kotonowa does not require sign-in or personal information and has no feature for entering or storing your conversations. Favorites, viewed questions and settings stay only in your browser and are not sent to the operator.

Kininarun Shelf processes the email address used for authentication, display name, language setting, shelf names, bookstore details, notes, memberships and invitations, and book metadata, notes, chosen-by and added-by records that users provide.

QRAID requires no sign-in. It processes questions, four choices, correct answers and event sets prepared by quiz masters, plus room display names, team names, answers, chat, announcements and progress. Do not enter your real name, contact details or other personal information.

Repotto! processes masters’ authentication email addresses, room names, event details, questions, question templates and co-master information, plus participants’ nicknames, responses, reactions, comments and submission status. Participants need no account and do not need to enter real names or contact details.

Hosting and authentication providers may automatically record access information to operate their services safely.

How we use information

We use this information for sign-in, private bookshelf storage, collaboration with invited members, QRAID question storage, room progress and answer synchronization, Repotto! question creation, response storage and reflection sharing, responding to inquiries, preventing misuse, and maintaining and improving the services. Email addresses are not displayed to other users.

External services

The website and official apps use OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare for hosting. Kininarun Shelf and Repotto! use Supabase for authentication and storage. QRAID uses Cloudflare D1 to store questions and room information.

Book searches may send the title, author or ISBN you enter to Google Books, Open Library, openBD or National Diet Library services. Shelf notes and member information are not sent to book-search services.

When you choose to share in Kotonowa, the selected question is passed to a destination you choose or to your clipboard.

The home page presents selected public One❣ Instagram posts using thumbnails hosted on this website and links to the original posts. Viewing the page alone does not connect to Instagram. Following a link to Instagram may send ordinary connection information to that service.

After moving to or sharing through external services such as Instagram, X or LINE, their own terms and privacy policies apply.

Kotonowa: data on your device

Kotonowa includes its questions within the app; displaying a question does not require an external network request. Favorites and viewed-question history are stored in your browser and can be deleted in settings. Deleting app data or clearing browser storage makes that data unrecoverable.

QRAID: questions and rooms

Instead of a sign-in account, the question bank is stored with a device key generated in your browser. Questions and event sets can be deleted within the app and saved or restored as JSON files.

Room data, including display names, teams, answers, chat, announcements and scores, expires approximately 36 hours after the room is created and is deleted in subsequent maintenance. Share the room passphrase only with intended participants. Do not put your real name or contact details in display names or chat.

Repotto!: responses and visibility

Responses in progress are autosaved in the browser on your current device. Drafts do not automatically transfer to another device and cannot be recovered after browser storage is cleared.

Choosing Save or Submit stores the content in the room. Only responses to questions marked for everyone can be reviewed and published by a master inside the room. Master-only responses are visible only to masters and co-masters. Everyone means room participants who know the passphrase, not the public internet.

Masters can review responses before publication, hide responses, withdraw publication and hide comments. If you export CSV, PDF or image files, you are responsible for managing those files and checking whom you share them with.

Archived rooms and their related questions, responses, comments and other data are deleted after approximately one month. A master can delete a room earlier.

Kininarun Shelf: visibility and deletion

Ordinary shelf contents are visible only to the owner and members who have joined. With a valid invitation link, a signed-in user can preview the shelf name, inviter, book count, covers, titles and authors before joining.

Shelf descriptions, bookstore details, notes, chosen-by records and fellow members are not shown before joining. Users can delete books and shelves within the app. For deletion of an account and related data, read the deletion instructions or contact the operator.

Saving bookshelf images

PNG bookshelf images are created on your device. Shelf contents are not sent to an external image-generation service. Before saving, you can choose whether to include the shelf name, creator, fellow members and the person who added each book. Before sharing an exported image, check which display names it includes and who can view it.

Advertising

This website does not currently serve third-party advertising. If advertising is introduced, we will first provide the necessary information and consent management and update this page.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or applicable laws change. Significant changes will be announced on this website.
